City of Canton
Overview
City of Canton was in dire need of a fresh website that delivers up to date information to it’s residents. Their existing site was difficult to update, and therefore not a highly used resource for Canton residents.
Deliverables
- Content Inventory
- Information Architecture (sitemap, wireframes, use case scenarios)
- Creative Direction, Art Direction & Website Design
- Web Development & Coding
- Content Management System Implementation
Client Goals
- To deliver timely information to Canton residents.
- To lessen calls to city hall for information that could be easily accessed online.
- To have a dynamic site that ensured easy updates.
- Allow ease of use for a very wide range of users from a web savvy perspective.
- Achieve a look and feel that communicate Canton’s small town values but progressive growth strategies.
Challenges Overcome
- Communicating effectively within a large organization that has a wide range of ideas regarding content, design & usability.
- Working through the debugging phase by organizing and prioritizing tasks.

And for heaven's sake don't forget the fried food. Yes - my creative juices are very high in cholesterol - but it fear not - they fuel spry and healthy work!

Nice site design. I also came your way through webcreme. Great improvement over the last Canton page…the only little thing that didn’t feel right on the new design is the search button…curious why you right aligned it over center or left? Just a little constructiveness or unconstructiveness…but great work!

I ran across your site on cssremix. I must say it is quite lovely. I am frustrated by the fact you don’t link to the website that you are showcasing here. Also, the copy and paste text for the project descriptions has architecture misspelled.
