March Font Crush

March Font Crush - P22 ToyboxOh my how time can just fly by without a documented Font Crush! Make no mistake folks, Font Crushes are happening around here every day, it’s just getting around to documenting the Font Love that’s difficult.

That brings up an interesting question: Is Font Love legal? How old do fonts need to be before I can look at them? Ew, this is going down a wierd path…

Anyway this past month I’ve been spending a great deal of time with:

Toybox

It’s a snappy little family of fonts, complete with a 3d, reversed and bold versions. How nice!

I’ll talk more about the Milktooth brand when the site actually launches. :)

February Font Crush

Creampuff February Font CrushWow… is February almost over already…? I’ve barely come down from my Valentine’s Day sugar high! This month I’ve been working on a site for a radio show and have been swooned by a delicious little free font called Creampuff by Nick Curtis. Was it because I’ve been jacked up on sugar all month? Maybe. I cannot deny this month’s sweet tooth…

Creampuff just screams retro energy flow, doesn’t it? How could you ever just let this font live without some gradient or texture or depth? You just can’t! The heavens would rumble! Enjoy - you can download Creampuff here.

January Font Crush

We’ve all had ‘em. A crush on a font so severe that it starts to pop up everywhere - your client work, your business card, your bath water… So who’s on my January font crush list?

GOTHAM

Shocker, huh? There she sits right up there in the upper left of this site - schmack on my brand. But really… let’s be honest - What’s not to love? As far as sans-serif’s go, she’s the most fantastically fun blend of modern AND peppy!

Hmm… on second thought, maybe she’s just an old habit - I do a lot of work for the ol Yahoo!’s and Gotham is their corporate font. Has my crush been simply a proximity issue? Too much of a good thang?

As I’m thinking - I’ve actually always had a thing for bold, modern, plump & gregarious fonts like Gotham. Prior to my Gotham crush I was nuzzling with Myriad. Then I had a one night stand with Franklin Gothic for which Myriad never forgave me. *sigh* Whatever… Myriad had a shot of an attitude anyway.

Font drama - I need to call up ol Baskerville and see if he’ll go grab a beer with me…
