Wow My Site Has Been Pirated!
When I saw www.pirated-sites.com show up in my stats, I got a little knot in my gut. Who’s ass am I going to have to kick now…? Geez! I’m givin out one ass kickin after the other these days!?!? I think I’m going to have to take a pass on this guy since he’s in the UK.
I never thought about how I’d feel about a rip off. It’s actually been a cleansing exercise in the art of forgiveness.

This is where I go on and on and on about ... whatever. My "design process" is my best guess on what I do all day long. My font crushes are documented for anyone who wants to call the police. Enjoy.

The tagline is classic: “Pushing the limits of front-end web development…”
More like: Pushing the limits of “inspiration”. Or: Pushing the limits of typographical leading. Or: Pushing the limits of what could be considered “stunning.”
Lame.

You need to send a country-fried rocket up his ass. That or a good ‘ole southern (property rights) lawyer. And I’ve got just the woman for the job, too.

Hmm this is a touchy subject. I saw his new design and it has a tree now http://jameshopkins.co.uk/
My new design for my site will also have a silhouette of a tree and people could easily say you ripped him off or whatever when in fact is had never seen his site until now and I started my redesign 5 days ago.
Now other than the tree silhouette my new design looks nothing like his site or your site so I’m not worried.
While the pic of his old design does resemble your design (witch is very nice I might add), some of the rip offs I saw on that rip off site were extremely questionable.
Just my 2 cents.
Have a good one

Yes I did rip it off and I now realise how completely wrong and stupid of me that was., and I’m certainly not proud of my actions. When I did it, I was just out of school and trying to start to earn some money as a web designer, but this is still absolutely no excuse for what I did. I admit Jens design appealed to me but was far too ‘influenced’ than I should have been. It was the first time I’d ever done that and as soon as I picked up on the feedback from Jen and her readers, I immediately took the site down. Having now worked for a year in the web business and looking back, I now realise how unethical and completely unacceptable what I did was (have not and will not ever repeat this) and offer my unconditional apologies to Jen and to the web community.
